MSHC Adds a New Specialist to its Physician Team
In her new role, Dr. Sullivan will oversee MSHC’s orthopaedic centers in Riverdale/Hyattsville, Waldorf and Suitland/Camp Springs, and be involved in further orthopaedic expansion at the practice. She specializes in adult reconstruction.
Dr. Hoff-Sullivan moves to MSHC from Florida, where she was a private practitioner for 14 years. She shares how her visit to MSHC and her discussions with its administration inspired her decision to come on board: “I saw how well everything was run and was struck by how MSHC takes the time to optimize a patient’s function in a safe manner.”
Dr. Hoff-Sullivan brings her own stellar skills, along with more than a decade of experience. She served as Vice Chairman of Surgery at Camden Medical Center in St. Mary’s, GA, and treated patients at Accident Rehabilitation Center in Kingsland, GA, and Yulee, FL—many of them for Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury. She is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Medical Association, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
After earning her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC, Dr. Hoff-Sullivan completed an internship in surgery and a residency in orthopaedics at Howard University Hospital. She won the Dr. Charles H. Epps, Jr. Award in Orthopaedic Surgery during her residency, and then went on to do a fellowship in shoulder, hip and knee reconstruction at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minnesota. She trained with many of the AAOS’ past presidents.
“I really like the hands-on nature of orthopaedic treatment,” says Dr. Hoff-Sullivan. “There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a patient restored to full function after receiving care.”
“I look forward to working with my MSHC colleagues and helping to grow the practice,” she adds. “With regard to Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation, in particular, people sometimes assume that their injuries will be dismissed and they’ll be sent back to work in pain. That’s not the case at MSHC, which is dedicated to making sure patients are ready to return to their jobs safely.”
Dr. Hoff-Sullivan has two daughters and a son, and is active in the community. She is an avid traveler and hopes to set foot on every continent.
